I'm looking forward to the good light bit as I've been out 5 times over christmas and haven't seen the sun once and now I'm flu'd up to boot! The good thing is it's all uphill from here... I really think that you've done more than most in the UK to get people to think about their photography and how the see. I forsee great things for you this year and look forward seeing the new book, website and lots more photos!
good light, what does that look like? haven't seen any for a while...
Contrary to general opinion there is no such thing as bad light. there is only the failure of the photographer to adapt to the prevailing conditions at the time of making the image. All light is good light and photogrphers should adjust their image making to suit the light that is availiable.
The enemy of the photographer is the mind set when going out to make images with preconceived ideas for making images of certain subjects. Today I am going to make vista landscapes. the light is bad, the light is wrong attitude is mainly due to the photographer being lazy with his image making. If the light is bad or wrong for the subject change to another subject. The photographer must brake out of his or her precoceived ideas. The secret is adapt to the light conditions, as all light is good light.
Example, If the light is to flat for vista landscape subjects opt for making more intimate close up images of the landscape, as flat and hazy lighting suits this type of subject.
You may not agree with the above, but take a minute to really think about it and try unblocking your preconeived attittude to the light.
Remember this, you do not photograph the subject, you photograph the light, this applies to both analogue and digital images.

I totally agree with your points about light, I wrote a very similar thing in 2006 in "Working the Light":
The trick with landscape photography is always to match the subject to the light and vice versa. Good light, therefore, can happen at any time and almost anywhere – it's a question of matching the light you have to the possible subjects.
